Addiction & Substance Abuse Program
Mahaya Health Services offers out-patient care and support for individuals who are dependent on one or more substances and/or suffer from addictive disorders. These disorders may range form: dependence of pharmaceutical drugs such as sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medication, as well as pain killers, to the excessive and/or inappropriate use of substances such as Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Recreational Drugs.
Our goal is to provide safe and accessible options to help individuals reduce and eliminate their use of drugs, while supporting healthy detoxification and managing withdrawal symptoms.
Our approach is to integrate various available, and effective therapeutics including: Diet & Clinical Nutrition, Amino-Acid Therapy, Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Mindfulness-based therapies. |
We recognize that drug use and abuse can impact a person’s health on many levels. Many of the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol can be attributed to the way they affect diet and nutrition, blood sugar, nervous system, mood and behavior, digestion and metabolism, liver and kidney function, the heart and the lungs, and more. An effective Addiction program will not only help with detoxification and withdrawal management, but will also support and improve the health of the organs and systems that are negatively affected by the drug.
Our treatment program is individualized and can include short-term and long-term care and support. The program is designed around several key principles and makes use of a team of practitioners who contribute and support the goals set for the individual. Treatment is based on individual assessment and modified to meet personal needs, as well as address problems associated with the specific substance(s) of abuse.
If you have questions about this program or to book for your initial consultation and assessment, please contact our clinic and ask for a Consult with Arvin Jenab, Naturopathic Doctor.
Please note that consults are available for patients who are under the care of other Naturopathic Doctors and Allied Health Practitioners – These consults require a referral from your primary care provider who will then be provided with a summary report of our assessment and recommendations for treatment and care.
