Gynecology Services Available at Mahaya Health!
Mahaya Health Services offers a wide range of services and treatments to address women's health concerns - from prevention to the treatment of specific disorders and diseases, our practitioners take the time to understand your health and make recommendations that are effective, natural, and safe.
Gynecological exams are an important part of any woman's health care - a thorough examination can help identify potential health concerns, as well as provide valuable information for early detection and effective treatment of various diseases and disorders. Our practitioners are trained professionals and have a special interest in women's health. They provide a patient-centered and education-based female health examination. Any questions and concerns you may have will be addressed, and if you are interested, you will be taught what is normal for you so that you will develop a better understanding of your unique body. We strive to make your experience comfortable (real linens and a warmed speculum). We use the newest technology in cervical screening that is most sensitive at detecting the changes in the cervix. We also offer naturopathic treatment for gynecological conditions such as cervical dysplasia, cervical cancer, yeast infections, bacterial vaginitis as well as urinary tract infections.
Our gynecology services are different from what you may have to expect from past experiences because:
- We use real linens and use draping techniques that will ensure you are covered and comfortable with minimum area that is undraped for the purpose of performing the examination
- The exam is performed in a warm room with a warm speculum
- There are no footrests/stirrups
- A clinical breast exam may also be performed and your normal findings are sent home with you on your own breast map
- If interested, you will be talked through the exam so you are effectively educated about your body and health
- Upon request, you will receive a copy of your results for your own wellness file
- You will be given the opportunity to watch the examination with a mirror if you desire
- Aby gynecology-related health concerns and questions are addressed and answered
Regular screening provides an opportunity to catch changes in the cervix early (before they develop into cervical cancer). Come visit us here at Mahaya for a refreshingly different perspective on the gynecology examination. The visit is 45 minutes long and costs $99. If a swab is required there is an additional fee of $25. The visit is equivalent to a regular naturopathic visit and is covered by most extended health plans.
