The Mahaya Employee Wellness Program provides employers and groups with the resources and the expertise to develop and implement an effective and customized Wellness Program that meets the needs of the organization. Employer sponsored benefit programs are expected to rise significantly over the next decade. This has highlighted the need for solutions that will decrease the cost and impact of illness and disability on the morale and productivity or the work force.
Some of the reasons for the increasing costs to employers include:
- Aging Population – It is known that health care costs tend to stay steady until the age of 50, at which point they start rising significantly faster with age.
- Increase workload, longer hours, and life stressors are contributing significantly to an increase in stress-related disability and absenteeism. As many as 66% of employees report high job stress.
- Increase in Chronic Diseases such as Diabetes, Heart disease, Arthritic conditions, Obesity, Mental Health issues, and their complications is placing unprecedented burden on both the employees and the health care system, mandating most organizations and government agencies to bring the focus back to preventative medicine.
The Mahaya Wellness Program involves a few key steps to ensure success:
- Assessment – Getting to know the workplace, the people that make up your team, and the general health and wellbeing of your staff.
- Design & Implementation – Based on the needs of your organization, we will develop a strategy and implement it through several key activities including:
- Health Education and Awareness - Lunch and Learn, Workshops, Seminars, Newsletter submissions
- Skill-building and team-building - through organized activities & workshops, community events, and/or health fair
- Individual advanced assessment (Confidential) - a 90 minute assessment of diet, lifestyle, mental, emotional, and physical health by Licensed Practitioners
- Health Care Services - on- site and/or off-site appointments with practitioners for Integrative Health Care and management (Supported through employee extended health benefits!)
- Promotion - to encourage and/or mandate participation by individuals and groups in your organization.
- Evaluation – objective and subjective tracking and monitoring to determine the extent to which the program was able to meet its goals and objectives, and to modify and customize the program as the organization’s needs change.
Mahaya Health Services offers Health Education and Consulting, while maintaining its activities as an Integrative Primary Health Care clinic. Our group of practitioners include: Licensed Naturopathic Doctors and a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner & Acupuncturist.
Our clinic focuses on a Functional Assessment & Diagnosis of patients’ health concerns and we integrate Diet & Lifestyle Counseling, Mind/Body Principles, as well as a range of natural therapies and therapeutics including Eastern & Western Herbal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, and Bodywork. Our goal is to assist individuals and groups in understanding the underlying causes of health problems, and to promote health and wellbeing through education and participation, as well as the promotion of Preventative Practices.
Our practitioners are trained Primary Care Providers who have special interests which include working with individuals who have Mental, Emotional, & Behavioral concerns, Women’s Health concerns, Digestive Health concerns, Chronic Diseases, Chronic Pain & Inflammation, Endocrine Diseases, and Stress-Related disorders.
