Our Approach to Acupuncture

Our approach to acupuncture is rooted in the practice of Chinese medicine. With classical training, we can offer expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. In addition to acupuncture, we use complementary modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, tuina, and nutritional counselling, in order to provide the most comprehensive treatment possible. We offer a unique Korean four-needle acupuncture technique called Saam. Saam is based on an understanding of the five elements – Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood. Using this technique, our acupuncturist aims to address physical, mental and emotional aspects of your health. We also provide treatment using highly refined Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion techniques. We are passionate about the mind-body relationship, and our multi-disciplinary practitioners work closely together within a trauma-informed treatment model.

Hormonal Health
Acupuncture can be very effective for the treatment of numerous hormonal health conditions for all genders. Some of the more common conditions include endometriosis, amenorrhea, painful periods, low libido, and erectile dysfunction. We also offer support for pregnancy and childbirth, including treatments for fertility and birth preparation, as well as postnatal care and treatment.

Mental Health
Acupuncture can be an excellent adjunct treatment to support your mental health and address conditions such as anxiety, depression, panic disorders, and even complex PTSD. By gently supporting your body’s nervous system, it can help with balancing the body’s stress hormones, supporting your adrenal function and eliminating brain fog.

Functional Disorders
Many functional disorders can be a result of overwork, stress, trauma, and different lifestyle factors. Acupuncture is an indispensable treatment for chronic pain conditions, prolonged injury or illness, and numerous inflammatory conditions. Treatment can provide support for low immune function, digestive disorders, migraine headaches, and upper-respiratory conditions such as allergies, asthma
