Our Approach to Massage Therapy
Everybody is unique, and everybody responds differently to treatment. That's why our registered massage therapy in Little Italy is personalized to your specific needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Our care begins by getting to know you. We take the time to understand your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and treatment goals so we can create a customized therapy plan that supports your recovery and long-term well-being. With a strong foundation in the musculoskeletal system and an appreciation for the connection between physical and emotional health, our therapists provide thoughtful, evidence-informed care. When appropriate, we integrate complementary techniques such as craniosacral therapy, the Feldenkrais Method, and Thai massage to help reduce pain, restore mobility, relieve tension, and promote natural healing.
Lynne Catt, RMT — Registered Massage Therapist since 1998. Lynne studied Swedish massage at Sutherland-Chan and has since worked across clinics, spas and hospitals. She regularly integrates craniosacral therapy, Feldenkrais and Thai massage into her treatments, drawing on Ancient Hawaiian bodywork and Axis Syllabus.

Why Choose Mahaya for Massage Therapy
Stress & Tension
One of the most well-known benefits of massage therapy is its ability to help you relieve stress and tension from the body. When you’re under stress, your body produces high levels of cortisol. If your cortisol levels stay high for an extended period of time, this can lead to sleep problems, digestive problems, chronic headaches, fatigue, among other symptoms. Treatments from a registered massage therapist have been shown to reduce cortisol levels, which can help your body release tension and begin to heal.
Chronic Pain & Injuries
If you’ve been experiencing symptoms of pain for more than 12 weeks, it’s possible that you’re dealing with a chronic condition. Massage therapy can be an essential treatment in helping your body interrupt this cycle of chronic pain, which may have been caused by a number of factors, including injury, inflammation, illness, surgery, or other stressors. It’s important to pay attention to the body when it’s sending out signals of distress. Regular massage therapy can help provide your body with the attention and support it may be asking for.
Prenatal Support
Massage therapy during pregnancy is also known as prenatal massage, and it’s a highly soothing experience for any stage of pregnancy. It can provide symptomatic relief and support for all the ways in which your body is changing on a week-to-week basis. Prenatal massage is designed to help your body adapt to all the physical changes it’s going through. Other benefits of prenatal massage include the reduction of stress hormones, muscular relaxation, and increased circulation, which are important things to address during pregnancy.
